Main ContentFingerprint Background Clearance Letters
“Clearance Letters” are notarized documents issued by a Mississippi licensed healthcare entity after the results of a fingerprint criminal history record check reviewed against the records of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and FBI reveal no disqualifying events. The notarized letter may be used to inform other Mississippi licensed healthcare entities that the criminal history record check was “passed” and the individual was deemed “suitable” for work without “disqualifying events”. Other Mississippi licensed healthcare entities may elect to depend upon the validity of the notarized clearance letter for a period of two years from the date of issuance.
UMMC Clearance Letters: UMMC issues clearance letters by email as a PDF attachment. After being fingerprinted your letter will be sent to you by HRServiceCenter@umc.edu and will include “clearance letter” in the subject line. You may save this PDF document in your email. However, if you have misplaced your letter, you may print another copy from the PDF attachment in your email. If you prefer to request a duplicate there is a $10 fee to research and produce the notarized document. Contact the HR Service Center at (601) 984-1130 for additional information.
